'E' is for Emma
Hi, I'm Emma Brodie, Dog Trainer and Sole Proprietor of DOG 'E' DEVOTION. A small company devoted to working with dogs and their owners, sharing my expertise and experiences with new puppy owners and owners with dogs who have developed unwanted behaviours.
I live in Penicuik with my husband Andrew, German Shepherd/Jack Russell mix Daisy and Basil Brush the Lhasa Apso. I absolutely love dogs and can't walk past a dog without saying "HIYA". I have been a dog owner for 23 years and it's my experiences with them that was the inspiration for DOG 'E' DEVOTION.
I decided to start up a dog training company after my rescue dog Floyd (above) died. He was a great companion and is sorely missed. Floyd was the inspiration for my logo (above). I saw so many dogs in the rescue that didn't deserve to be there and so I wanted to help educate people in responsible dog ownership and training so that they aren't given up on so easily. Dogs can't make decisions but people can.
I know what it's like to own a dog with behavioural problems and the stress it can cause within a household but I also know that with the correct training, consistency and patience your dog CAN change and develop into a great companion.
Dogs and my devotion to their needs is what I am all about and I want to help you get the best out of your dog.
I trained with Steve Mann of the Alpha Dog Training School in Hertfordshire and I am a member of the Kennel Club Accreditation Scheme (KCAI) working towards accreditation. I have worked as a Dog Trainer for Edinburgh Council and taught their classes at Leith Academy in Edinburgh. As well as Dog Obedience Training I like to dabble in Agility and Heelwork to Music and like to add bits of these to my classes.
My training classes are kept small to ensure individual attention to each dog and their owner.
My other interests include spending time with my lovely husband, walking and exploring new places, keeping fit, reading, collecting vintage toys and chatting to friends and meeting new people.
I hope you find my website of services useful and I look forward to hearing from you.
